Interesting comments regarding the Ouya. I enjoy the open source nature of the Android phones and devices. It kind of sounds like an Android device stuffed into a box which allows controller support and output to an HDTV. However, right now I’d rather put my money down on the similarly spec’d Nexus 7 which already has full access to the Google Play store and plenty of independently developed games and apps, plus it’s more portable. It just lacks the HDMI out. Ouya certainly has potential to provide some really great material, but right now there is not much confirmed for it. I’m interested to see what direction it goes and I may eventually get one if enough developers support it, but I don’t see enough information to convince me to plunk $100 down so far in advance on what could possibly turn into an expensive, although rather nice looking, paperweight.
