    Occult Academy (Episode 9):

We open with Maya discussing something over the phone, and after Uchida comes in the office, he notices Real Estate sale documents. We learn soon after they concern her selling the house she grew up in. The whole class is then involved in a spirit summoning, in which Chihiro summons a young girl who quickly disappears. JK and Smile end up finding her and bring her to Maya, to whom the girl confesses she wants to go home.  Maya agrees to help her. They find her home, but the girl curls up in a ball and starts saying it is cold. Suddenly poltergeist activity picks up, as well as a mini snow storm. They find out the girl froze to death on Christmas Eve outside her front door. They end up finding her dad, whom refuses to help them, and with that we are left waiting for the next episode.

This was a very good episode, but again had nothing to do with the overall plot.  As much as I am enjoying the side stories, I would like more episodes dealing with the main story arc. With only four episodes left, it is obvious there will be a second season.

    Strike Witches 2 (Episode 9):

As the episode begins we are greeted with Perinne’s backside. We find her in Gallia helping the reconstruction, when she finds out from a young girl the bridge is out. Once back with the rest of the witches, it is time for a day at the beach. Lucchini finds a treasure chest at the bottom of the ocean, and Perinne is determined to get it so she can use the money for Gallia. Lucchini, Perinne, Miyafuji, and Lynette eventually find a map that leads to a cave. While in the cave, the rest of the witches come in looking for them. Sakamoto ends up drunk off wine, and kisses Minna, who faints. Perrine finds a large chamber, and ends up having to fight off a large statue. After defeating the statue, she finds a treasure room filled with herbs. Upset she couldn’t find treasure to pay for a bridge, Sakamoto ends up consoling her. She finds out in a letter that the bridge was restored.

I went in to this episode with reservations, thinking it would be more excessive fan-service, but it proved me wrong and was a very sweet episode. It was nice to see Perrine as a more caring person, than her typical Tsundere ways.

    K-On!! (Episode 22):

The show opens with Azunyan, Jun and Ui discussing Valentine’s chocolates and who they are giving them to. The girls are studying in the music room, while Azunyan practices.  Azusa ends up making chocolate with Ui and Jun. On the day it is time to give chocolates, Azusa keeps hesitating, and runs off after thinking about the other graduating. She eventually goes up to the music room and and they all enjoy the chocolate. It ends up snowing outside and the girls crowd around the window to look. Azunyan ends up contemplating on how nice it is being with all of them. We find out at the end that Yui, Mio, Ritsu and Tsumugi all made it into the same college.

While this episode seemed like it would be another episode about nothing, it turned out to be much deeper. It really showed how close the girls are and how much Azusa cares and is worried about when they graduate and she is left alone. Great episode!

I still need to watch Occult Academy and finish K-On Season 1 and start Season 2. Not too sure on Strike Witches, but for the most part any suggestions you have given me in the past for Anime have been great ones; KissxSis, Mayoi Neko Overrun!, and now Seitokai Yakuindomo. :)

I’ll start up on Occult Academy as soon as I finish K-On!!. For some reason I can’t see what’s so special about Strike Witches (other than how the anime interprets ‘pants’), I dropped it after episode 3 of the first season.

Again some cool looking anime I haven’t seen yet, I making a list, but K-On looks cool. How’s the music in the show?

    4. Shizuo says:

Did you not like Shiki or Kuroshitsuji II?

    5. G-Nitro says:

@Bustercube: K-On! has great music when it focuses on it. Many times this 2nd season, it has strayed too far away from the music though.

@Shizuo: Shiki I just haven’t watched, and Kuroshitsuji II I skipped because I never saw the first season.

Having watched a couple episodes of an anime series that G-Nitro features on his quick hits, I find the quick hits more interesting to read after you’ve watched the ep (if you’ve decided to watch the series), so that you can get his take on what you just saw. Otherwise it’s just spoilers. But if you’re not sure whether you want to watch a series, these quick hits are pretty useful for giving you an idea as to whether it’s your cup of tea.

I hate side stories too. Having to many of them ruins the flow of movies and I dont like that. The same thing applies with games… To many side quests makes the game feel more like a chore.

    8. Shizuo says:

Well, I suggest giving Shiki a try! If you like mysteries and stuff. (I don’t wanna say what it’s about due to spoilers)

@ G-Nitro Which one of the three would you start with first? They all look to be interesting but I’m watching a few now and can only fit one more in at the moment so any suggestion would be great.

    10. G-Nitro says:

@archangelreb: I definitely suggest Occult Academy, which can be found on Crunchy Roll

I never knew about Crunchy Roll! Thanks for the info.

I think I have to start watching more anime if I want to catch up… I haven’t seen any episodes of Season 2 Strike Witches and I don’t know how many I have seen of Occult Academy… One, Two or Three. I liked Season one and I hope they made Season 2 better. If so, I will probably be watching it all.

I love K-ON! ONe of my favorite shows!

I really need to watch K-On!, the second season sounds like it’s pretty good too. I probably should also get around to the first season of Strike Witches, as I actually own that. Occult Academy sounds pretty interesting, and sometimes I don’t mind side stories. Though if you think about it, it’s sort of like filler.

Should one start with Strike Witches 1 or is it really not related to SW2? I read some stuff about SW2 the other day and I’m thinking of checking it out.

    16. G-Nitro says:

You should definitely watch Strike Witches 1 first. You could probably go into 2 without watching it, but you would be missing a lot of the story from the first season and information about what is going on.
