We start by seeing Hitoha looking at a Gachi Ranger Guidebook hidden in the book she is always reading. Chiba mistakes her excitement for porn, and this creates a misunderstanding between them. This leads to an eventual pants take down on Yabe. The next major scene is Christmas Eve, and the triplet’s father is sick. Due to this, Hitoha has to play Santa. Futaba wakes up and Hitoha tries to play it off as being Santa, which causes havoc and much pain for her. Next we see Mitsuba with a new pair of panties that get blown away in a fight with Futaba. They end up getting stuck in a tree, thrown away by Chiba, and she ends up chasing them to a temple, where they fall into the prayer coin well. The final scene has the triplets meeting up with Satou and Chiba at the school pool which is frozen over. They end up ice bowling. Futaba ends up being the bowling ball.
I never thought I’d anticipate each episode, but now that I do, this show doesn’t disappoint. Hitoha is still my favorite, but what Futaba says at the very end of the episode is ridiculous and had me rolling around in laughter.
With this episode, we begin the arc of Nakata Sae. Just like the last two arcs, this one’s beginning is handled differently and we have a narrator at times. Junichi is headed to school, when he first sees Sae arrive, but he doesn’t know who she is. On his way to lunch, he bumps into Morishima, which causes him to drop his coin purse. Sae ends up picking up the coin purse and tries to get his attention, but can’t manage to speak loudly enough. After finally catching up with him in the lunch room, she returns the coin purse and he tries to thank her, but she runs off. He meets up with his sister, who introduces him to Sae. Later we see him meet up with her as she is afraid of a puppy. They end up at the cafe Kaoru works at. He tries to coax her into getting a job there, but realizes she needs practice dealing with strangers. He takes her home where he works with her on skills needed to become a waitress. When walking her home, he gives Sae a piggyback after losing rock, paper, scissors.
Sae comes off as absolutely adorable, and is the shy/weak type. I do think they push her shyness too far, like when she was scared of the puppy. The way Junichi engages with her is excellent, and once again completely different than with previous girls, which is a great way to deepen his character. I can see this being a very fun arc, but I hope they do away with the narrator. He is unnecessary and very creepy.
Seitokai Yakuindomo (Episode 9):
This show is a continuation of the sports day arc we saw last week, and the jokes start immediately. Before the sports day begins, the Student Council start a newspaper and Tsuda’s story about a lost kitten proves a big hit amongst the girls. Once the sports day comes, we see them setting up the various events. Once the events begin, we see Tsuda and Mutsumi showing some interesting in each other. We also see the girls on a scavenger hunt, which proves Tsuda to be rather popular. When Shino wins the scavenger hunt, she doesn’t want to tell Tsuda what the paper said, and sadly his attempt at reverse psychology fails to find out what it was. The main event comes in the 400 meter relay, which we see the Student Council teaming up against other clubs.
I thought last week was the funniest this show had been, but this week kept that pace up. I was trying to hold back choking on food as I was in fits of laughter. Seitokai Yakuindomo is still the funniest show this Summer.

I may look into Seitokai Yakuindomo. Sounds pretty funny, and your irc offhand comments about it always being good a laughs sounds promising. Essentially, I like animes that can be described with a sentence ending in “and the wackiness that ensues.”
I’m going to try and find Seitokai Yakuindomo so I can see if it’s really as funny as you say, I love Comedy Anime and I haven’t seen many for awhile. As allway your posts keep me entertained, and interested in the new shows.
@Bustercube: Seitokai is a very perverted comedy series. Be prepared! xD
All 3 of these are animes I had wanted to watch this ummer, however I’ve only watched Amagami because I loved the game, and its been living up to my expectations.
@Jrittmayer: Amagami is my 2nd favorite show this season. All the girls have been great so far. As for the game, I will have it in soon. But with my very limited Japanese, it will be tough to get through. lol
Kind of want to pick Mitsudomoe back up. It seems funny enough to watch. But with the fall season coming up soon, with a lot more anime i’m interested in, I might just hold off. Decisions Decisions!
The characters in the Mitsudomoe seem familiar, I think I might have seen them somewhere before. That show sounds rather wacky in a really creepy way, so I don’t know if it would exactly be my cup of tea.
Amagami SS seems like a nice little show that will be heavily character and story driven, which is good since I always like shows that are able to really develop their characters. The name also seems familiar, is this a sequel?
Your description of Seitokai Yakuindomo doesn’t make me think it’s too funny, but maybe it’s a show that’s too funny that you just have to watch it to really get what’s happening. I also don’t mind if it’s a bit perverted.
“@Bustercube: Seitokai is a very perverted comedy series. Be prepared! xD”
lol. Alright. Thats another good reason for me to check the episode out.
btw@Gnitro Do these series get Eng voice over?
@Redboy, wth would you want to watch it with English dubs!? D:
Bad! Bad! Redboy!
@Kameleon: Mitsudomoe is not as creepy as I thought it would be honestly. Amagami SS is based off of a PS2 dating sim game. Seitokai Yakuindomo is the hardest one to write about. I don’t like giving away the jokes, so it’s kind of a bland recap. But it is the funniest show this season!
@Redboy: All these shows are currently still airing in Japan, so no English dubs yet
Uh oh. Looks like it was a bad idea to visit this site so often, now it looks like I’m gonna have to spend more money on DVDs, namely with Mitsudomoe and Seitokai. I was actually a bit on the fence about Mitsudomoe, but I’m more interested now.
Thanks for the quick hits!
I so agree that Seitokai is such a perverted film. There are sex joke made every seconds.
@G-Nitro: Coming from you, that comment on Mitsudomoe isn’t very reassuring. I’m sure you’re comfort zone is way past what mine is. As for Amagami SS, that probably explains why the title looks familiar, I likely saw it when I was browsing through PS2 games on Goozex (or possibly Play Asia).
I understand that it would be hard to convey how funny Seitokai Yakuindomo is without including a joke, so I’ll just take your word on it. I’ll make sure to watch it once I get through the other piles of already dubbed Anime I need to watch. If it’s not dubbed by then, I’ll surely watch it subbed.
Mitsudomoe ep 9 was extremely funny. Nothing like getting a good pantsing to make a good guy cry. I really enjoy this one the character flow and interactions make for one hilarious show.
“Chiba mistakes her excitement for porn”
This makes me wonder if I should really watch it or not XD
Woot! Not the first to ask about English dubs
How perverted is perverted? Worse than the chat? XD
Got around to finally watching episode 9 of SYD. It’s good to know there are advantages to being short! lol
