Elsie realizes the students are just unconscious, and then Haqua arrives. Elsie asks if it is a level 3 loose soul, and Haqua has no luck with the detention bottle. The loose soul is controlling all the students, and it is actually pretty creepy. Suddenly the loose soul takes off, and Haqua acts like a bitch to Elsie.
As she tries to leave, Keima tells Haqua to take Elsie with her. She gets upset, and we see a flashback to them graduating. She takes off anyway, and Elsie clobbers Keima for being with Haqua. Keima drags Elsie with him, and Haqua is left starting from scratch. She sits alone and begins to cry, and now the loose soul has targeted Haqua.
Keima and Elsie arrive to find that Haqua has been taken over. They really made this loose soul creepy, as it brings out the zombie like students again. Elsie is quickly held back by the students. Keima begins to encourage Elsie to focus on Haqua. As she tries, Haqua begins to target Elsie. We get more flashbacks of all the hard work Haqua put in.
Even while being controlled, Haqua is crying and admits he mistakes. Haqua strikes down with her scythe, and Elsie says it is okay. Elsie tackles her with a hug and praises her. Haqua recovers and is ready to finish off the loose soul. Elsie is mad cute with her hair completely down.
As they enter to finish off the soul, Haqua admits she hasn’t captured a soul yet. Haqua begins to fend off the students as Elsie darts for the soul. As she loses the bottle, she is able to take control of her raiment and grab it. After a well placed decoy, she is able to capture the soul. Elsie lets Haqua take the soul. Haqua praises Keima and thanks him, and of course she is still around after.
This was a cute little arc for Haqua, and I really liked her character. It was interesting to see a demon become controlled by the loose soul. I was a bit disappointed Keima didn’t have to kiss her to release it, but the scene with her and Elsie was very touching. Elsie has such a good heart, and I was glad to see Haqua show her more respect. With Haqua still around, I wonder where the story goes from here when Keima deals with other girls.
