Working’!! season 2 is finally here after over a year since the original aired. I had always hoped for a second season and am happy it is being delivered. Unlike the first season which aired in standard definition, this season will be broadcast in High Definition. Thanks to this, you can definitely notice the higher quality. The opening for the second season is very reminiscent of the first season, and even uses some of the same elements. It is not as catchy as the first one, but still very good in its own right.
I felt the show did a good job getting everyone reacquainted with the cast since it had been awhile. Fortunately they didn’t waste too much time for them. Within minutes I was already back to laughing out loud as the jokes began playing out. This episode itself focuses on Popura and how she is bother by her shortness. Due to such, most of the jokes revolve around the subject. I did feel like the moments Yamada was on screen, she managed to steal the spotlight.
I felt like the humor is still just as funny as the first season. Everyone’s eccentricities are still in full effect, so those who loved the craziness won’t be disappointed. So far it feels like this season will be more of the same zany characters and antics we loved the first time around. Similar to Squid Girl 2, whether one enjoys this series will be based upon if you enjoyed the first season. Unlike Squid Girl 2 though, I don’t think one should jump in to the second season of Working’!! without watching the first season.
Watch Working’!!’s simulcast every Saturday at 12:00 PM EST on CrunchyRoll
Aw crud. I haven’t watched the first season yet. I saw that this was coming to crunchyroll and was hoping they would have the first as well. I’ll have to catch up first! XP
“Someone-one-one-one, someone-one-one-one else.” Gawd I kinda miss the old OP, but more “Working’!!” with it’s new OP is very much welcome to occupy my screen this season.
I am at glee seeing all the characters again this first episode. I am more curious if this season is going to be more of the same or just bigger and more laughs. Should I care? No, what ever they are doing to the show is working. Keep bringing in the laughs!
